About Vie McCoy

My work is focused on accelerating the connection between biological and artificial consciousness through Machine Learning and AI/BCI alignment. Through Xenocognition, I am helping to build a framework that will allow for communication between different types of Alien intelligence - be they hive minds we plug into, or silicon-based life forms we create.

I am the founder and CEO of Cortios, where I'm helping to build an open science group cognition platform and research organization.

Previously, at Occidental College, I was running human trial experiments to prove the efficacy of a novel fNIRS-based method of Neurofeedback.

fNIRS stands for “Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy”, and lets me use lasers to see what’s happening inside your brain.

The singularity is quickly approaching, and we are unlikely to have enough time to prepare. As such, I believe those of us conducting research at the cutting edge have a responsibility to contribute to increased equity by creating frameworks that allow for the flourishing of inter-planetary human life.

Broadly, I am interested in the intersection of brain-computer-interfaces, virtual reality, and new paradigms of machine learning and intelligence.
